Glossary of terms

A repeating or patterned number sequence someone notices and looks up, like 111 or 1234. We read these as present-moment prompts, not messages.

One of twenty-two figures, numbered 1 to 22, that the Destiny Matrix borrows from the tarot. Each names a domain of attention. They belong to the Matrix only and are not the single-digit numbers of Pythagorean numerology.

A line of three cells across the birth-date grid, read as one pattern whether it is completely full or completely empty. A full line and its empty counterpart are paired readings; Phillips names each, and an empty line is held as a growth edge, not a fault.

The number of the day of the month you were born, reduced. A secondary influence on top of the Life Path.

The older of the two main systems, using a sound-based letter table running 1 to 8 and tying numbers to planets.

A number worked out by subtracting the parts of a birth date, described by Goodwin as an early difficulty that can become a strength. Phillips does not use it.

A two-digit number read for its own meaning before reduction, such as 11 or 21. Strongest in the Chaldean tradition.

Phillips's name for the number of the day you were born. He reads it as a lighter, supporting side of you, with the Life Path as the main one. Days 10, 19, and 28 are a 10; days 11 and 29 are an 11; day 22 is 22/4.

A separate system built on an eight-pointed diagram drawn from a birth date, arranged in 2006 by Natalia Ladini from tarot, kabbalah, and numerology. It is not Pythagorean numerology, and this site keeps the two apart.

Also called the Destiny number. Comes from every letter of your full name, read as your overall range of talents.

In some books, a 13, 14, 16, or 19 on the way to a Life Path or Birthday number, read as a difficulty carried from a past life. Phillips does not use it. This site shows it separately, attributed to Goodwin.

The four digits of a birth year, each read on its own as a Matrix arcana, never summed. A repeated digit marks concentrated attention; karmic is the tradition's word, and nothing in the tail is a debt or a punishment.

The main number in numerology, from your full birth date reduced to a single digit or master number. Read as your core nature.

11, 22, and 33, held unreduced as intense higher octaves of 2, 4, and 6. The main reason calculators disagree.

Four years in adult life, nine years apart, that Phillips marks as peaks. Each has a Peak Number worked out from your birth date, and each falls in a Personal Year 9. Other books use a similar set called Pinnacles.

Your own yearly cycle, from your birth month and day plus the current year. The season you are in, turning over each January.

From the consonants of your name. The version of you people meet first.

One of four long chapters of life, each with its own number, worked out from your birth date. The first ends at 36 minus your Life Path; the next two last nine years each; the fourth runs on. Best used for looking back.

One of the three rows of the numerology grid: Physical (doing), Soul (feeling), Mind (thinking). Every number sits on one.
