Every term this site uses, defined plainly and in one place. Each has its own anchor, so you can link straight to a definition.

Angel number
A repeating or patterned number sequence someone notices and looks up, like 111 or 1234. We read these as present-moment prompts, not messages.
Birthday number
The number of the day of the month you were born, reduced. A secondary influence on top of the Life Path.
Chaldean numerology
The older of the two main systems, using a sound-based letter table running 1 to 8 and tying numbers to planets.
Compound number
A two-digit number read for its own meaning before reduction, such as 11 or 21. Strongest in the Chaldean tradition.
Expression number
Also called the Destiny number. Comes from every letter of your full name, read as your overall range of talents.
Life Path number
The main number in numerology, from your full birth date reduced to a single digit or master number. Read as your core nature.
Master number
11, 22, and 33, held unreduced as intense higher octaves of 2, 4, and 6. The main reason calculators disagree.
Personal Year
Your own yearly cycle, from your birth month and day plus the current year. The season you are in, turning over each January.
Personality number
From the consonants of your name. The version of you people meet first.
Plane
One of the three rows of the numerology grid: Physical (doing), Soul (feeling), Mind (thinking). Every number sits on one.
Pythagorean numerology
The modern Western system, assigning letters to numbers 1 to 9 in alphabetical order. The site’s default.
Reduction
Adding the digits of a number and repeating until one digit remains, the basic operation of numerology. Master numbers are the exception.
Soul Urge number
Also called Heart’s Desire. From the vowels of your name, read as what you want underneath the doing.
Synchronicity
Carl Jung’s term for a meaningful coincidence. Our explanation for why a noticed number can feel significant.
Universal Day
Today’s date reduced to one number, the same for everyone. The shared background tone of the day.
