Why this site keeps them apart

Each tradition has its own logic and its own books. Mixing them, say by reading a Life Path through a zodiac sign, makes claims that neither tradition makes. So they live on separate pages here, each with its own sources, and this page is the only place they meet.

The slow drift behind astrology's two zodiacs

Julia and Derek Parker's Astrology (2007) describes the drift simply: the Earth's axis wobbles, so the starting point of the zodiac slides backward through the stars, all the way around in about 25,920 years. Western astrology kept its zodiac tied to the seasons. Vedic astrology kept its zodiac tied to the stars. That is why one person can have two Sun signs.
